Hanover
Hanover County is a diverse and historically rich region located in the Commonwealth of Virginia, just north of the state capital of Richmond. Not just known for “Hanover Tomatoes,” it is also known for its picturesque landscapes, agricultural heritage, Civil War history and various attractions. Nature enthusiasts will appreciate the numerous parks and recreational areas. Kings Dominion Amusement Park offers thrilling rides, entertainment and family friendly attractions.
Have you been to the “Center of the Universe?” If not, be sure to visit Ashland, home to Randolph Macon College, located in Hanover County given its nickname due to its central location between major cities. Hanover County enjoys this strategic location overall being within an easy reach of Richmond, Charlottesville and Williamsburg. Hanover County presents various housing choices, including suburban developments featuring amenities such as pools and tennis courts, to countryside locations with larger plots of land, and some options that fall in between.
Mechanicsville is a well- known area northeast of the City of Richmond. Many know it for being the site of numerous battles during the American Civil War. Like most of Hanover County, it offers a blend of agricultural, residential and commercial areas. Residents and visitors enjoy trips to the Chickahominy River and its associated parks.
Rockville is located in the far west portion of the county. The counties of Goochland and the Far West End of Henrico are within minutes to Rockville making it a great location for access to the amenities these counties have as well as its own. Most of Rockville is still agricultural or residential with more acreage than one will find in the suburbs.
